La Laguna de Santa Marķa del Oro is situated 50 km S.E of Tepic, 210 km N.E. of Puerto Vallarta and 190 km N.W. of Guadalajara. It is 20 km via a good paved road from both the Santa Maria del Oro turnoff on highway Mex. 15 or from the Santa Marķa del Oro toll booth on the Guadalajara -Tepic "autopista". It is 2 hours via autopista from Guadalajara and 50 minutes from Tepic. The paved road ends at the lakes edge. Bungalows Koala is 300 meters to the left. |

Buses and combis depart regularly from Tepic to Santa Maria del
Oro. Combis depart from the terminal in Avenida Mexico and buses
leave from the terminal in Avenida Victoria around the corner
from Avenida Mexico. From Santa Maria del Oro there are combis
to the lake. If you are coming by bus from Guadalajara and if
you have little luggage you may ask the bus driver to leave you
at the Santa Maria del Oro tollbooth. From there you may take a
passing bus or combi to Santa Maria del Oro.
